So going for an emerald tonal, yarn is a rayon/cotton from Henry's Attic

1/4 tsp of dye mixed with 1 cup of hot water

1/8 cup solution in one bottle
1/4 in another
remainder (about 2/3) in 3rd bottle.

Reactive red
Burgundy
Reddish brown

Mx reactive
1/4 tsp dye, 1 cup water

Knitting

Started a pair of toe up monkey socks in the hand dyed greens

dyeing experiment

dyeing today, working on getting my proChem dyes to work well on wool.

Soaked 1 skein (100 gms) of SSY in a bit of water with 1 TSP synthrapol and 1 TBL of citric acid
Presoaked for 20 mins, wrung out

applied dye solution, mixed at 1/4 tsp dye to 1 cup of water

used raspberry and purple

squished in plastic wrap, steamed in boiling water for 40 minutes

Am going to rinse once it cools, soaked with 1 tsp ammonia, then 1 tsp citric acid, hardly any excess dye

Finished this a few days ago and trying taking a nice picture, it looks lovely on the gargoyle.
Yarn color is fairly accurate.

Yarn for el

Some Sheila sock yarn.  Dyed with old procion.  Didn't love it in the skein but looks better wound. 

Cast on 12, increase to 64. Size 2 needles.  Begin Hermione St pattern. Going to try toe-up  sweet tomato heel. 

And finished the  Alexandra shawlette.

Another sock

Cast on for hermione's socks.  (24-64 sts) Doing them toe up.  Finished Ashton Shawlette for Katherine last night,  just needs blocking.  Dad socks coming along downstairs,  just began heel turn.

Begun yet again,  liking it this time in Hawthorne,  maybe for Matt or Jae.
